Out 'Pod Save America' Host Jon Lovett First Boot from 'Survivor 47'

The new season of the long-running reality TV show "Survivor" kicked off on a sour note for LGBTQ+ representation.
As reported by NBC News, Ronan Farrow's competing ex-fiancé, Jon Lovett, was promptly voted off the island during the season premiere of "Survivor 47."
Lovett is a host on the popular political podcast "Pod Save America" and speechwriter who worked with former President Barack Obama as well as Hillary Clinton.
Lovett got the boot Wednesday after the Gata tribe lost the challenge and found itself in the first tribal council of the season. But after losing the challenge, Lovett's tribe member Andy (who had come out as bisexual to him early in the episode) had a meltdown that he says contributed to his demise, he told Parade magazine in an interview.
Host Jeff Probst old Parade magazine in a separate interview that he did not expect Lovett to leave so early.
"I thought Andy was done," said Jeff Probst, the show's host and executive producer, referring to cast member Andy Rueda, who had a meltdown.
"He seemed to be a massive liability. And I was actually kind of sad as Andy walked off, because I wanted him to get everything he wanted out of this experience, and it didn't seem like it was going to happen," said Probst.
Fans of Lovett's podcast likely tuned in to see how far he would go in the competition, but were rightly disappointed when he went home.
"I was prepared to watch a season of Survivor for the first time in like 15+ years for @jonlovett... welp byeeeeee," one person wrote on Twitter.
Another social media commentator added, "I am so angry. I have watched @survivorcbs for years & will not watch this season now after what happened to @jonlovett. He got absolutely screwed by a whack job."
Taking a page out of Trump's book, Lovett wrote in response to his elimination on X. He tweeted, "Stop the steal."
Oh, the irony.
Lovett, 42, co-hosts "Pod Save America" with fellow former Obama staffers Jon Favreau, Dan Pfeiffer, and Tommy Vietor.
