Gay Twitter Roundup: Olympian Kiss on International TV, Timothée Transfixed by Vogueing, and Gay Love that Lasts

Andrea Marks Joseph READ TIME: 1 MIN.

Life right now feels like a chaotic whirlwind of hot Olympic athletes, ideological debates, and the endless struggle to endure the heat of a Brat summer, but one thing will always be true: X (formerly known as Twitter) is endlessly entertaining.

Our favorite tweets of the week are thirsty, hilarious, and deeply queer. This week we're thankful for Olympians that are serving while serving their country, and rejoicing as an Olympian celebrated her gold-medal win by kissing her girlfriend on international TV.

Gay Twitter is also addressing the importance of gay politicians to the culture at large, the struggle of a roommate asking you to "act straight" for a new friend, and the meme machine that is every video of Kamala Harris.

Between Timothée Chalamet being transfixed by the video of his lookalike vogueing, Billie Eilish queering up a Charli XCX song with hot, sapphic yearning, and the main reason to tune into sexed-up finance drama "Industry," celebrities are the gift that keep on giving.

The Olympics is something that can be so personal (enthusiastically thirsting over a diver you'd never heard of 20 minutes ago) and yet so unifying (finding out everyone else on Twitter has fallen in love with him based on 30 seconds of video footage, too). It's so important for society to have moments of global connection like this.

Let's wrap this up on a wholesome note, shall we? There's always some queer joy to celebrate. This week, we got a sapphic Olympian kiss on international TV, and gay couples reminded us that queer love can (and does!) last.
