Popular EDM DJ Deadmau5 is coming under fire this week for going off on a tirade while using gay slurs — something for which he's refusing to apologize, according to TMZ.

Deadmau5, real name Joel Zimmermann, reportedly had a fit after his character died in the online game PlayerUnknown's Battleground. Taking to the online video streaming platform Twitch, the Canadian hitmaker lashed out at his opponents, using gay slurs like "fucking cock-sucking stream sniper fag."

The outburst eventually led to his suspension from Twitch for apparently violating the site's anti-hate speech policies, Billboard notes.

But Deadmau5 took his anger elsewhere on the internet. He later stopped by Reddit with another rant, this time taking issue with Twitch, which he claimed had a "double standard when it comes to censoring and suspending me for harmless shit." Deadmau5, who has 500,000 followers on Twitch, also said he promised to cut ties with the company, even tho he's "had some fun partnerships here and there."

"While what i said was generally toxic as fuck, and not an ideology i hold closely to my moral standing by a fuckin longshot," he added. "While it was intended to insult a fuckin asshat who was being a fucking asshat.... it wasnt 'directed at an entire group of people who have a sexual orientation that differs from my own'. fuck off with that shit."

The DJ also wrote:

"I know who i am, and i dont have to fucking sit here and cry and defend my fucking self with the obligatory 'IM NOT THAT PERSON, I AM SORRY' reflex. If im sorry for anything, im sorry that we live in a world where bottom feeding pieces of sh*t can sit there staring at a monitor, watching me play videos games, and just waiting for someone to get tilted so he can get a few fucking clicks. thats what i'm sorry for."

But the musician has since deleted his posts on Reddit but of course, not before people screenshot his comments and saved them.

Deadmau5 has also deleted his Twitch channel.

Billboard notes this isn't the first time the EDM star has gotten in hot water for using homophobic language. Last year, he was in another online argument that was said to curl into "homophobic" and "transphobic" language. He eventually apologized.
